I met some amazing people...Lynne and her guy (I am so sorry that I can't think of your name! My memory stinks...you were both so nice and I feel horrible that I can't remember it!), Gary,RW, Dave (obviously!), Mrs. RW, Kevin (and Katie), Jenny,Mocha Momma, Leah, Robin, and blogless Suzanne. I feel like I am forgetting someone, so if I am it isn't anything personal...like I said, I have an awful memory for names.
As Kevin can attest to, I was a little worried about the driving/parking situation. I maybe sent him a few (dozen?) emails asking questions, so I know there is no way he didn't pick up on my worry. I am just not a city kind of girl. I prefer suburbs where there are huge parking lots and not so much highway (and construction!) driving. I am a big girl though, so I figured it all out. I did pass the restaurant at least 2 times before finally finding it but I did not even get lost once.
There was only one valet guy there (as far as I saw anyway) so I sat there forever waiting. I wasn't even going to attempt to street park. As I was sitting there waiting, I saw Mocha Momma. I have never met here before, so being my shy self (kidding! I'm sort of not very shy when it comes to flagging down strangers) I leaned out my window and yelled over to her to ask her if she was indeed Mocha. She was super friendly and not at all put off by my craziness. I then proceeded to be socially awkward and point out how gross the inside of my car was because we had been to the beach the day before. She was very cool and said "you have children" and totally understood. I was already in love with her.
Eventually the valet guy came and took my car so I headed in. I have seen Dave's videos on his blog, so I knew what he would sound/look like but seeing him in person, right in front of me was so cool that I stood there speechless for a second before finally introducing myself. He gave me my cool lanyard and I sat down.
I talked to Jenny first because she is actually friends with my real life best friend. I didn't know that until the day before Davecago when I was talking to my friend and she said something about Jenny and her blog. It didn't connect right away, but as soon as I got there I asked Jenny if she knew her and sure enough, she does.
Just when I was starting to wonder who to talk to next, RW came over and was super friendly. He introduced me to Mrs. RW and Robin who were very friendly too. I am sad that I didn't get to spend much time talking to the three of them...hopefully next time?
After a little while more I met Gary (who gives great hugs in case you were wondering) and then Kevin and Katie came over and sat near me. I was really excited to meet Kevin and Katie. I was also worried that he would be different in real life or something and the image in my head would be ruined. It was not ruined at all. Kevin is exactly who he is on his blog but better. Katie is super sweet, they are adorable together and I think my husband may be a tad bit sick of me talking about how amazing everyone was and how I want Katie and Kevin to come over and make pizza with us and hang out. I'd love everyone I met to come over and hang out with me!
After a little while more, Lynne and her guy (I am telling you, I totally suck for not remembering his name when he was so nice!) sat down next to me. They were super sweet. After a little while more, blogless Suzanne arrived too. Suzanne needs a blog. She is awesome! Plus, towards the end she said my shoes were cute. You have to love that!
We ate pizza, talked and there was not one second where I didn't feel welcome. Everyone was just so friendly! Sadly though, I spent so much time talking and laughing that I only remembered to take two pictures! And one of them wasn't even one I took, but one I made Dave take of me to prove I was there.
I am really disappointed that I didn't get more pictures and that I left right after dinner and didn't get to hang out with everyone more! I said I needed to get home to put my kids to bed, which was true, I did promise my kids I would kiss them goodnight before they went to bed, but I also was tired! I had gotten up at 6 that morning and we had a busy day filled with t-ball and other kid things. Since it took me almost 2 hours to get there, I figured I should leave to go home while my eyes were still open and I was still awake. Of course as soon as I got home and told my husband and kids about the amazing people I had met, I was wide awake and wished I had stayed longer. Next time for sure!
Two last things. 1. Bloggers are amazingly attractive people. Seriously. I couldn't get over how stunning everyone was. and 2. Dave-you need to finish your story that you were telling me about the girl named Tori with a similar last name to mine. I'll have to email you later about that if I remember.

That looks like SO MUCH FUN, I'm so glad you were able to go and had a great time with everyone. Wish I could have been there...shooting for '09!
: )
I'm super bummed I missed out on the fun. Everyone looks like they were having a great time. Maybe next time YOU should organize a suburban get-together and force some of us city people out to the cornfields (as we like to joke).
Looks and sounds like a lot of fun!
I'm so glad you went and had fun. I knew you would. And I hear your brownies were a hit. ;-)
Talk about good looking- that's a great photo of you, Kevin and Katie.
ahh that's awesome, glad you got out and got some time with blog buddies
Another cool recap of Davecago 3. Awesome. And look at you... baking brownies for everyone. Sounds like the rest of us missed out.
I couldn't make Davecago, but my DaveWear came Saturday ... so it was almost like being there.
Don't tell any of the other attendees that I said this but, when I heard you were there, that is the only moment I felt a bit jealous not to be!
I am SO SO SO glad you had a great time and YOU are beautiful!
How fun! Sounds like you all had a great time. :)
So great to meet you, and I'm glad you had a good time! You are hereby invited to all Dave Events.*
* We get brownies with that, right? :-)
And, speaking of brownies, I'm getting requests for the recipe! If it's not a secret, you need to post it so I can throw everybody the link. :-)
That's the ONLY time Hilly felt jealous? Oh...
"Adorable blogless Suzanne." That's just too funny.
Now was the big, bad city really all that big and bad?
We had fun meeting you and can't wait to do it again.
John-I had so much fun! I didn't expect to...I mean I knew everyone would be cool, but I had no idea how friendly everyone would be. I wish you could have been there too!
Nilsa S.-that would be perfect! I will start thinking and maybe kilax and I can plan something.
Jenster-it was so much fun! I had no idea meeting people I talk to on the computer would be so fun!
Sizzle-Kevin and Katie are adorable! I love them! I had no idea the brownies would be such a thing. I just made them because that is sort of what I do. I'll remember to bring them whenever I meet blog friends from now on though!
furiousball-I think that is the first time I have been out with no kids and friends in a really long time!
martymankins-any time anyone wants brownies (or other baked things) you are welcome to stop by! There is always something baking in my house. Last night we made peanut butter brownie oreo cookies. Delicious!
Delmer-I wish you could have been there. It would be great to meet you too!
Hilly-thank you! You are so sweet! I feel the same way about you though. I am dying to meet you...soon, right? Let me know what the plan is for the fall!
Sunshine-I still want to meet you, you know. I think you were one of my first commenters ever. Maybe even my very first!
Dave2-If you sent me your address I would send you brownies every day. You should know I exaggerate sometimes though. I would still send them whenever you wanted them though.
Dave2-I'll post the recipe soon. I can't remember where I got it, but I am guessing from my friend Anna at Cookie Madness.
Kapgar-the city wasn't so scary, but it was definitely out of my comfort zone! The entire night was, but it turned out really well and I had a great time meeting everyone. I only wish I had stayed longer so I could have had more time with everyone!
HOORAY! I'm super happy that you had a great time meeting up with the bloggers!!
LoL, works out well that most everyone seems to have forgotten his name - I refer to him as "Kosh" online anyway :) Again, it was nice to meet ya, and perhaps the next time around, we'll get to chat more. in the meantime I'll just lurk around... heheheeee :)
